Whidbey Island Winery
We sketched at Whidbey Island Winery on Langley Road this week. It's a lovely setting and a happening place. I just read on their website that there is a live music event there tonight - Notte' di Vino - sounds enchanting!
This sketch looks a lot like my sketch last week at Greenbank Cellars Winery. I guess I'm just a sucker for a scene framed by at tree in the foreground.
I can't believe the winery is only about 2 miles from my house and I've never been there before. As someone in our group said Wednesday, one of the great things about our sketching group is getting out and discovering all the wonderful places right under our noses! Thanks to Wendy for treating us to a bottle of Island White while we sketched!

Another beauty, Sue. SO sorry I missed this sketching session. Hate it when work gets in the way of life.
ReplyDeleteI was looking for photos of Whideby Island and stumbled across your watercolor and just had to tell you how much I love it.
ReplyDeleteIt is absolutely beautiful! Looks like such a peaceful and bucolic place it makes me want to visit the island more than a photo even might.
Do you have a gallery? Would love to visit/see more of your work when I'm fortunate enough to be able to take a trip up there.
Thank you, Christopher! I think that's the nicest compliment I've ever had on my work. No, I don't have a gallery, but I have most of my sketches on my flckr photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/suevanetten/
