On the Sounder train

Thursday, Pat, Diana, Deboarh and I took the 7:15 Sounder train to Seattle for an early a.m. breakfast and then walked to SAM for the 10:00 Picasso show. Along the way on the train, Diana and I did some sketching while Pat ate one of those large yellow sour fruits that makes your whole face pucker up. It was a long day of fun, adventure, sketching, a genuine tea ceremony in International District and a sleepy comfortable return train ride to Mukilteo.

  1. Some of his pieces were impressive and influenced very much by the women in his life whom he was obsessed with in his paintings. The show was very interesting and presented well. I'm amazed how prolific he was. Also he was not a serious painter and considered some of his work a joke which I thoroughly agree. I don't care for his style but I learned a lot about him and how not to paint.

  3. Lois, If you haven't seen this 1956 French documentary called The Mystery of Picasso, I highly recommend it. It was truly facinating. http://www.netflix.com/Movie/The-Mystery-of-Picasso/60025585
