Celebrating at Prima

Kris and I met up at Prima to celebrate the hanging of two art shows. She had just finished hanging her watercolors paintings and sketches in Useless Bay Coffee Company. And Whidbey Island Sketchers' show at the Unitarian Church opened yesterday, too!

It was lovely taking my sweet time drawing something that had no inclination to move, squirm, twitch or get up and leave. This kind of drawing is very Zen for me. Speaking of Zen and churches, we both found Prima's molten brownie with vanilla ice cream to be a profoundly religious experience.

  1. Sue I honestly think this is your best location sketch EVER. The detail is superb, lines just right, composition lovely & reflections spot on. You really achieved a beauty with this one.

And thanks again for hanging the WISK show.

  2. Aren't you sweet! Thank you for the lovely compliment. Oh, and I didn't really hang the WISk show. Sherryl helped a lot with her great sense of design and decisiveness and the ladies in the church visual arts committee did most of the actual hanging.

  3. I agree, this one is Primo, at Prima! Has great depth, design and color. And I love your use of line. It's well executed with character. Nicely done, Lady!
