Claudia Fuller - sketching at the Marina

Here is Claudia's sketch of the marina today.

Sketching at the Langley Marina, in the SUNSHINE!

Today, with Whidbey island Sketchers, just down the hill at the Langley Marina - VERY bright sunshine, warm, breezy, LOTS of Sketchers - it couldn't have been a nicer day. And, best of all, we weren't stuck waiting in a holiday ferry line!
This is the Langley Dock Company building, and one of the Marina Inns. It sits directly on water of the Marina. Magnificent view!

A.L. Anderson

Was A.L. Anderson a philanthropist?  It seems so.  He donated land for the Langley Woodsman Cemetery, allows the Highlands to use his property for a pea patch.  What more can we learn about this person.  Check out my blog for details.

Diver Down and a work boat with character

This was the first one I did on that stormy day.

This one was much more enjoyable. I went back when the sun was out.

Langley Marina Nasturtiums

Attracted to the warm colors, I drew the nasturtiums and the parking lot instead of the boats at Langley Marina. The water view seemed so blue and grey. Do you like the way I made Mike into a little leprechaun sitting on the concrete wall? A little problem with scale.

langley marina

I had a great time sketching and watching the people and boats.  It started to rain several times and my paper was getting soggy.

Langley Marina

This Langley Marina sketch just in from new Whidbey Island Sketcher, Cathy Hess. Welcome, Cathy!

"Since I moved to Whidbey from Honolulu in late May,  I've been looking for a way to keep "at it" with my watercolors. I somehow stumbled on your wonderful website, Google-mapped my way to Langley and met Sherryl and Julie on the pier this afternoon. I had a lot of fun and Sherryl told me that I MUST send you my sketch----so here it is. Will look forward to meeting more of you in the coming months."
