Anacortes Sketcher, Missy Walsh, blew us all away with her sketches on Wednesday.  Missy gets the "Talent Code" award for most improved sketcher. Yup, she is obsessed with sketching, putting in her 10,000 hours and it shows!

Aleli's 'Red Dresses for Valentine's Day'

Anacortes Sketcher, Aleli Howell, sketched all the red dresses outside the Keystone Building's Vintage Shop in Anacortes. Just delightful!

Fisherman's World Market, Anacortes

Third floor atrium in the Fisherman's World Market.

What a great building to sketch. Wonderful character, a grand wood staircase, live music and natural light from an atrium on the third floor. A fun, eventful and productive day sketching with our friends in Anacortes! Thank you Aleli and Missy for researching the great sketching and food locations. More sketches to come!

Anacortes Old Building

What a great day with the sketchers from Anacortes. They were friendly, interesting, fun companions while showing off their town. This sketch is the third floor of a beautiful old 1910 building where we spent several hours.

Sketching with new friends in Anacortes

Thursday was a beautiful sunny day and several of the Whidbey Island Sketchers spent the day sketching with our new friends from the Anacortes Sketchers. What fun it was with lots of gabbing and laughter. We will have to meet again. The Anacortes sketchers invited us to sketch inside the 100 year building that was really, really funky but a Pandora's box of sketching material. Perfect.
This is a display of flowing scarfs stacked up on a metal shelf with an old chair in front. All these colorful gems were on display outside a vintage clothing store full of beautiful clothes.

I was fortunate enough to sketch this cute couple who had just sat down for their day out to lunch. They were there for some time enabling me to do some detail in capturing their mood.
