BOO!

Had a very nice sketching day with the sketchers at Sharen Heath's yard. Then more fun at Sherryl's for happy hour. Working in this new Stillman and Birn Zeta sketchbook. The jury's out on it. The hot press surface is great for pen but watercolor is very difficult. Colors get sucked in before they can flow across the surface. I say Boo! Hoo! But I'm considering it trash now so maybe some good sketches will come along.

The Witches are Swirling

The Witches, Crows and Spooks are gathering around Sharen and Simon's home.
Using the synthetic paper, Yupo, keeps the colors intense and playful.

Crows & Spooky town

Hello all,
I'm rushing this onto the web tonight because the next week is crazy.  We had a wonderful day sketching in Langley and then Happy Hour or more at Sherryl's comfy home.  Sharen Heath has done it again, with the most fun and creative front yard in Langley.  Langley has a kind of crow thing going on and we attribute it to Sharen's wonderful Tim Leonard crows.  Enjoy!

Sharen's Artistic Home

Summer sunshine stopped on Friday when we were going to paint in Sharens garden. Only Judi painted the enamelware garden, but we can come back!  Oh well, as you will see the house was non-stop artistic vignettes.  We loved it!  Thank you, Sharen!

I love this fun painting!

SKETCHING IN A KOZY KROW'S NEST

I have totally fallen in love with a house and a yard! Everything about Sharen and Simon Heath's house is right up my alley, from the famous enamelware garden, to the birdhouses and crows. Had SUCH a great time! For photos and the story click here to go to my blog. Here are my two sketches from the day --

Charming Sharen's Charming Home

What should a Sketcher do on a rainy day in August (yet!) when they were invited to sketch Sharen Heath's fabulous garden? Well....sketch inside her fabulous house of course. So much to sketch!!! So little time! Everywhere you look there is artwork, collections, vignettes just begging to be sketched. I loved looking at these shelves loaded with fun sketchables. I really look forward to returning on a sunny day to sit in her garden and sketch the fairy houses and enamelware tucked everywhere. Thanks, Sharen, for the gracious welcome and hospitality.
