I haven't finished my self portrait from 2/17 yet, but last week the Whidbey Island Sketchers met in the amazing, eclectic swirl of color and texture that is the "Music for the Eyes" shop in Langley. Headwear, rugs, jewelry, scarves, beads, musical instruments - from Russia, Morocco, Nepal, Turkey, Asia and other exotic locales. A true treasure of a shop right in beautiful downtown Langley.

Self Portraits
Today, we gathered at my place to do Selfies ... to honor our beloved late Sherryl. We raised our glass to her, and engaged in making our own self-portraits, honoring the self portrait she had done and had at her Memorial. It was the first day of the year warm enough to sit outside (briefly!) ... Liesel and I braved the outdoors while the house was filled with Sketchers. While we painted our portraits the bird life was amazing! I felt inspired to include them in my selfie. I also used Lupo, a sorta plastic paper that Sherryl introduced us to, and used in her own selfie!
We miss you, Sherryl.... gone two months as of tomorrow. We love you and still feel your presence. A goldfinch isn't a Goldfinger, but its as close as I could get today!!!
with much love, Barb
